UpDash — built by Xcel

The software is the difference.

Most marketing companies buy their reporting. We employ engineers and build ours — which is why UpDash tracks what other vendors don't even attempt. Every screen below is the real product, starting with the first one a dealer sees after signing in.

Chapter one

This is the first screen you see.

No setup, no exports, no 'ask your rep for the report.' A GM signs in and the store's lead activity is already counted — calls, texts, web leads, Facebook, QR scans, appointments, showroom visits — with the trend chart a hover away.

Product UI · illustrative data

Seven ways a customer can respond, one panel. In the product, every number is a click away from the actual people behind it.

Chapter two

Four channels, honest rates.

Mail pieces, emails, texts, and Facebook impressions — each box carries its volume, its average response or click-through rate, and how many campaigns feed it. The rate sits next to the spend-driver, where it belongs.

Chapter three

Every campaign, one table.

Job number, creative, deployment date, records, responses, rate — with channel pills you can filter by. A mail campaign with SMS blasts wears both pills and answers to both filters. Click a row in the product and you're on that campaign's dashboard.

Why this matters

Your vendor mails a PDF. We hand you a login.

A monthly recap is a vendor grading their own homework, weeks late. A login is the numbers as they happen, with the people behind them one click deep. If a vendor's reporting can't survive being a login, that tells you something. Ours is the login.

Frequently asked questions

What is UpDash?

UpDash is Xcel Media Group's campaign tracking and attribution platform, and it's included at no separate charge with your Xcel marketing. It ties every direct-mail, SMS, email, and Facebook campaign to real dealership outcomes so you can see responses, calls, appointments, and sold units in one dashboard instead of guessing which marketing actually worked. The goal is honest attribution rather than vanity metrics like impressions or clicks.

Is there a separate software fee for UpDash?

No. UpDash is built into your Xcel campaigns and comes with them at no added license or subscription cost. You're paying for the marketing itself, and the reporting platform that measures it is part of the package rather than an upsell.

How does UpDash matchback to my DMS work?

Matchback compares the customer records in your marketing audience against actual sales and service records pulled from your DMS, so a mailed or texted customer who buys a car or comes in for service is credited back to the campaign that reached them. UpDash reports on both sold units and repair orders (ROs), which captures the service-side revenue most attribution tools miss. This is real transaction matching, not modeled estimates or last-click web tracking.

Does UpDash work with my DMS or CRM, like CDK, Reynolds, Dealertrack, or PBS?

Xcel works with the major dealership systems including CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, and PBS to bring sales and service data into UpDash for matchback. The exact setup depends on how your store exports or shares its DMS data, so your Xcel rep will confirm the connection during onboarding. If you're on a less common system, it's worth asking directly, since most feeds can be accommodated.

Who owns the data and audience in UpDash?

Your dealership's data stays yours. Xcel builds campaigns around owned, first-party audiences and reports the results back to you in UpDash, rather than locking your customer lists or performance history behind a platform you can't leave. Combined with no long-term contract, that means you're never held hostage to keep seeing your own numbers.
